Shaped Card Challenge #9

Good morning everyone! It's time for My Craft Spots Monday challenge. This weeks challenge is to make a shaped card--any shape other than a square or rectangle. So, start looking through your handbooks or make your own shaped card with your Gypsy. I picked a card I like from my Wild Card cartridge. I needed to make a thank you card, and the *doily* card was the perfect shape.
The twine, ribbon, and sentiment are all from My Craft Spot. LOVE!
The metal pie pan is from a piece of metallic tag board. The background
paper is from the *Modern Homemaker* paper pad by
October Afternoon. I love the blue and red color combination.

Cuts:
  • Wild Card cartridge pg.52
  • 5"  Doily
  • 5" blackout envelope
  • From My Kitchen cartridge pg.67
  • 2" pie and layers
  • sentiment is from Sweet Sentiments set #2
The prize this week is a spool of cherry red twine. Awesome prize! So, get started on that shaped card, and get it linked up so we can all enjoy it. :) Make it a great day!

Missing Comments

OK, so I was going to pick a winner today, but some of the comments were missing and I had a weird blogger message. I would like to wait until tomorrow to give everyone a chance to leave another comment. I have NO idea what happened. I can't believe this happened on my first giveaway. Ughhh.

Let's try this again. Please leave a comment on this post HERE.

Blooming With Happiness

Hi everyone! I wanted to share something my sweet talented Mom made me. She crocheted me a bag full of beautiful flowers for my cards. She even matched some of the flower colors to my PaperTrey Ink cardstock. I LOVE them! Since I have such a stash of them, I thought I might share a little kit with some flowers, pearls, and matching PTI cardstock with one of my bloggie friends. Just leave a comment on this post with a way to reach you and I will randomly pick a winner this Friday.

Here are cards I made using the flowers...
I really like how this card turned out. I used the Sweet Sentiments #2 set
by My Craft Spot for my sentiment. I love this stamp set! The paper
is by Basicgrey--urban prairie. I used a border punch for a little
detail and *pop* of color behind the white strip. The paper flower
is cut with the Walk In My Garden cartridge. The pretty little crotched
flower is from my Mom. :) Since the background paper is busy, one flower
was all this card needed. I finished off the card with some sewing
machine stitching.

Cuts:
  • Walk In My Garden cartridge pg.87
  • 2 1/4"  blackout blossm
  • Standard A2 sized card-paper from PTI
I hope you've all had a chance to enter this weeks challenge over on the My Craft Spot blog, you can find it here. Be sure to leave a comment on this post for the goodies I'm giving away this Friday. Make it a great day. :)

Bling It Up! Challenge #7

Hey! I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. I had a wonderful time with my family.  The girls each made me a card for Mother's Day. They even bought me a *cricut cartridge*, that turned out to be an Apple ITouch. Oh, how I've wanted one. I was very surprised!  Now comes the tricky part of keeping my *little assistant*(Sammy) from hiding it, or worse--breaking it. Fun Fun.

Well, today is time for another Monday challenge over at My Craft Spots Blog, and today's challenge is all about the *bling*. A perfect chance for you to use some rhinestones, stickles, glimmer mist, maybe even some glossy accents.  Did I mention the prize...The Sweet Sentiment # 1 stamp set!! Trust me--you want this.:)

Here is my card for this week...
All of my flowers came from the Walk In
My Garden cartridge. It is kind of hard to tell in
the picture, but I added diamond stickles to a couple
of the flower layers. I also *popped* up the flowers
with dimensionals. I kept with an odd number of
flowers for the card. The stamped sentiment is
from the Sweet Sentiments Set #2
For the ribbon technique, I ran a piece of crinkle ribbon
through my sewing machine set on the longest stitch
length. After I stitched the length of the ribbon I gently
pulled on the tails of my stitching threads and it gathered
the ribbon right up. From there it was easy to stick
it to the cardstock. I ran a strip of ATG adhesive down
the center of the cardstock and then pressed the ribbon right
on top. I tucked the ends behind the strip of green cardstock
and then attached the green strip to the card base. Leaving
the inside nice and clean. Hope that makes sense.

Cuts:
  • Walk In My Garden cartridge pg.87
  • 2 "-1/4"  blackout Flower layers
  • I also used the flowers on pg. 84, 82 & 85
  • Standard A2 sized card-from PTI
I hope everyone plays along this week. It's fun and I LOVE looking at everyones projects. Of course there is always a wonderful prize to win. :) So, go check out the contest here.

Have a great week.
