New Stamp Release Day 2- Thank You

Hi everyone and welcome back to day 2 of the My Craft Spot release party. Today we are sharing a sneak peek of the new stamp set *Thank You*. I was really excited when I saw this awesome set and couldn't wait to use it. I ALWAYS need thank you cards.:)
The cherries are from the Country Life cartridge. The *Thanks*
sentiment is from the new *Thank you* set. I added some (a lot)
of glossy accents to the cherries-they look SO yummy. :)
For the tag I just cut a strip of paper, stamped
Thanks!, and then used my corner rounder
on the edge. I love it when I can use tools I already
own and add a different touch to my cards. I added
the tag with a zig-zag stitch on my sewing machine.
The twine is some of My Craft Spot's
vintage chocolate bakers twine.
I love pairing my kraft/vintage cards
with this twine!

*for your sweet gift* another sentiment from the
*Thank you* set, that finishes my card perfectly.

Hi everyone! Welcome to day 1 of My Craft Spot's New Stamp Release Party. Today I, along with the other design team members, will be showcasing sneak peeks of the new stamp set *Tiny Tags 2* and a set of coordinating metal dies. If your new to metal dies--you're gonna love them. The dies are SO cute, fast, and easy to use. Here is a set of cards I made using the *Tiny Tags 2* set and dies.
Aren't they tweet! The cute little tags with sweet sentiments really
add so much. The bird is from the Create A Critter cartridge. The
sunshine yellow, scarlet red, and caribbean crinkle ribbon are
from My Craft Spot. I also used buttercream, maraschino, and
caribbean twine.
*Have a happy Day* is from the Tiny Tags 2 set.
The white tag and blue tag are both from the new
metal dies set-SO cute! I added a little Peachy Keen eye
for my birdie, to give her some personality.
I also added a little doodling with my white pen.
*So happy for you* another sentiment from the
Tiny Tags 2 set.
*Many Thanks* another sweet sentiment from theTiny Tags 2 set.

Challenge #59-King Of The Grill

Hi everyone! It's Monday and that means it's challenge day over at My Craft Spot blog. This week's challenge is *King Of The Grill*.  It's all about honoring Dad! I made a card for my husband, Jim.
I started with a 5x5 card base. The *Treasure the little moments*
is from the Sweet Sentiments #2 set by My Craft Spot. The little
girl and dad are form the Playtime cartridge. The little girl is cut at
2.5" and the dad is cut at 3". I did pick hair from other *kids* on
the cartridge. The cute faces are Peachy Keen. The water paper
is from the *Splash* 6x6 paper pad by Bella Road. For the *sand*
I had some tan colored paper, that has a white core, and I just
tore the edge by hand, and it created a shore. Love it!
The *Love you!*is a sentiment from the Sweet Sentiment #1 set
by My Craft Spot.
The little girl on the card, I made to look like our
youngest daughter, Sammy, who loves to go
fishing with her daddy.
Be sure to link up your cards on the My Craft Spot blog for a chance to win an awesome prize. Have a great week!

Graduation Party

Hi everyone! It has been super busy at the Egaas house. Our oldest daughter, Madeline, is graduating from high school, so we had an open house with family and friends in celebration. I thought I would share some of the party details.
I ordered the open house invitations (on left) from Pear Tree Greetings.
I was 100% happy with how they turned out! Pear Tree Greetings
prints on 100lb matte cardstock and they look great. We also ordered
her thank you's from PTG. I ordered photo stamps from Stamps.com.
They looked cute and added a personal touch to the envelope.
I made colored tissue paper pom-poms for a *pop* of coordinating color.
I followed the Martha Stewart pattern for making theses. They're a big bang for
little money-NICE! I hang them using the matching colored twine
from My Craft Spot.
We ordered custom labels from Jones Soda's with her pictures.
I went to the UPS store and enlarged pictures
to hang up for decoration. At the UPS store
you can print an XL print for only $4.00.
The picture measures 23 1/2"x32 1/2".
I just took a picture saved on a flash drive,
handed it to someone who works at the UPS store,
and they printed it for me. Easy Peasy.
I think they look great.
My mom was sweet enough to sew me a banner to add to the
green/blue color theme. The banner is so fast and easy to make.
I cut a 5" square, traced the 5" inch pattern on the fabric,
and then cut the square out with pinking shears.
 We use double
bias tape from Joanne's to hold the blocks together. I think it's less than $2.00.
Just sew the three sides together, pin the block to the bias tape,
and then stitch the banner together. Easy!
I also used framed pictures to decorate and then after the party
let the Grandparent's and Aunt's/Uncles take one of the pictures
home with them after the party. I know they all loved getting
a current picture, all framed and ready to go. I took Maddie's
*senior pictures* and just printed them at Costco, which was also
a money saver.
Maddie loves cookies, so for a sweet little *thank you for
coming and supporting Maddie*, I purchased cookies
from Costco, wrapped them in a clear plastic bag,
and then wrapped them in white bags that I purchased at
Packaging Specialties. Again, I stayed with Maddie's school
colors, blue and green, and created a tag using stamps from
My Craft Spot. The *Thanks* is from the Tiny Tags set and the
*You make life sweet* is from the Sweet Sentiments set #2.
I only had to *whip up* 65 of these little treats.
We had a chocolate fountain complete with strawberries, caramels,
marshmallows, twinkies, and small pretzels.
A banner greeted people.
I made sure to take pictures with everyone. Now, we have updated
pictures with relatives and friends.

I got the special cake from Costco!
This is just one of the gorgeous flower bouquets family and friends
were kind enough to bring. :)

Teacher Appreciation

We'll, I'm back with a gift idea for your special teacher. Sammy gave these to her teachers this year.
I made a little pouch with a cute bag from
My Craft Spot. The ribbon is *scarlet red*.
The *Just for You!*sentiment is from
the Friends & Neighbors set. The apple is
cut from the Create a Critter cartridge.
I cut the *tag* from the Sweethearts cartridge. I love how
it fits nicely in a bitty bag. Perfect for holding a gift card.
The cute little faces are from the*Snow Cuties* by Peachy Keen Stamps.
I finished the treats off with a tag from the *Tiny Tags* stamp set.
I just hand wrote the names in the tag.
This idea could easily be changed out for any theme. A card, chocolate bar, and a gift card are a thoughtful gift for any occasion. :)
